LIMITED COMPETITION PARTICIPATION | 1995

In 1994, Barcelona Council asked a series of selected Architects to review the masterplan of the Poblenou waterfront. The area to review comprised five squares located right next to the ring road, in the stretch between Poblenou Cemetery and Prim street.

The chosen strategy was to establish a set of open rules, suggest a series of indications that would direct the design, rather than constrain it, as done by Gaudí when developing the planning regulations for Park Güell. The idea was to establish a theoretical volume in which every building had to fit, thus resulting in a varied series of designs: sometimes the height would be more important than the footprint; sometimes it would be completely the opposite.
