In the Metropolitan area of the city, we sometimes find housing schemes bounding with roads and infrastructures of first order. They can be understood as rushed interventions which the local authorities are forced to face, occupying areas that would have been better to leave unbuilt.

The Masterplan for the “Pont de la Cadena” sector, in Molins de Rei, is one of these examples. It is located at the end of the extension of Molins de Rei, at a very short distance from the AP-2 motorway, and facing directly onto it.

The building is divided in three parts: the central part is taken by the ventilation patio, and the apartments are located at either side of it. The patio in the central part of the building is very important in order to allow the units to enjoy cross-ventilation, which would have been impossible otherwise.
