The Diagonal Zero hotel is part of the set of buildings built at the start of Avinguda Diagonal, in the junction between Rambla Prim and Taulat Street, directly opposite to the Fòrum bulding, and diagonally opposite to the Princess Hotel.
The scheme is designed as a series of volumes aligned to the streets surrounding the site. As each of those rises towards the maximum height permitted by the planning regulations (100, 80 and 50 m), the building is shaped both in height and plan to link all of those volumes into one stunning entity.
The high rise buildings are sitting on a two storey pediment which contains all the common areas of the hotel, such as the reception, restaurant, bar etc., as well as a series of meeting rooms facing Taulat Street.
The hotel has a total of 256 rooms, located between floors 2 and 14. On the 15th floor, a function room connected to a great terrace allows the creation of this extraordinary viewing platform. On the 17th floor there is an open swimming pool and a solarium.
The façades are finished with a ventilated natural granite cladding system, which is very suitable for the extreme conditions found in such a seafront location.
